Young families in Houston are often characterized as wanting contemporary, sleek, minimalist designs. However, in the case of our clients for this house, the stereotype did not hold.  They desired an updated farmhouse design with comfortable, sophisticated spaces. Small children are constantly running around, so organization, a hidden play space off the side of the living room, and peacefulness were all key attributes of this design. The Houston Heights Historic District where we built this house, created a wonderful, walkable, tree-lined street context for this welcoming home.
